Lindsey + John | Papagayo Creative Session
I am so lucky to meet and work with awesome couples from all over the globe. Like me, they are often adventurous types willing to go off the beaten path with me so that we can capture something great. Since, I am based in Costa Rica, an adventure vacation destination, I feel it is only fitting to incorporate these kind of shots into the wedding collection.
This little session was from a day after creative session with Lindsey and John. We spent the afternoon exploring the many stunning locations within the grounds Peninsula Papagayo. Towards the end of our session, Lindsey agreed to climb up this gorgeous sun drenched tree and something magic happened.

Dinara + Emmanuel | Dreams Las Mareas Wedding
One of the best parts of my job (besides the fact that I get to do what I love) is that I get to meet people from all over the world. Dinara and Emmanuel hail from Montreal, Quebec. These two chose to host their wedding as it was a great meeting place for their international group of guests. They had friends and family fly in from all over the world with the furthest location being Kazakhstan, a whopping 8000 miles from Costa Rica. Needless to say, it was quite the festive event.

Hannah + Derek | Playa Langosta Elopement
It isn’t really a big secret that I love shooting elopements. Not only are there less distractions on the wedding day, there is just something so romantic about striping the wedding down to the essentials and framing everything with the idea that love conquers all.
Although everyone has their own reasons for eloping, it provides me with the unique opportunity to take my time and take the bride and groom on a little adventure somewhere scenic. I have had couples hike trails to waterfalls, hang out with horses and play on the beach.
Hannah and Derek hosted their wedding in one of the most beautiful locations, Playa Langosta, which just so happens to be the community that I call home. We were fortunate to have an empty beach and beautiful light, so this time, we just explored the beautiful natural surroundings of Punto San Fransisco.

Annette + Adam | Wedding Album
I just received Annette and Adam’s organic cotton wedding album and am excited to share some detail images of my album quality. These are archive quality books printed on lay flat card stock pages. Yay for printed photos!

Talia and Aaron | Tamarindo Wedding
Talia and Aaron have a certain timeless look. As I was editing their photos, I started to notice a pattern. My favorite photos tended to be black and white images of the two of them. As I became more comfortable seeing the world in monochrome I started noticing things that weren’t immediately visible to me when viewing the images in color. All of the distractions faded away and what I was left with was pure love. This blog post is an experiment in seeing the world differently and focusing on the intricacies of the strong bond that this couple share.

Laura and Marcus | Playa Langosta Wedding
Laura and Marcus were looking for a casual setting for their nuptials. They chose to host their wedding in Costa Rica since it was a country that they had always wanted to visit and Laura had always dreamed of having a intimate destination wedding. Laura, a talented singer in her own right, wanted to incorporate her love of music into the decor with a bit of vintage flair. She sourced gorgeous brass vases including trumpet shaped candle sticks. My talented wife, Kirsten of Four Winds Weddings & Events completed the look with petal cones made from sheet music and her gorgeous floral designs.

Harlan & Jennie | Dreams Las Mareas Wedding
Harlan and Jennie wanted to host a group of their closest friends and family in one place. They chose a brand new resort, Dreams Las Mareas in northern Costa Rica as the location of their big day.

Janet and Mike’s sweet Tamarindo elopement is the feature on one of our favorite wedding blogs, Junebug Weddings. Yay! Here is an excerpt from Janet about the wedding inspiration: “It was a true elopement — we wanted simple but with some magic thrown in. I love everything boho, so I needed something along that aesthetic but something more sexy for a dress. We incorporated pieces from our home: a rug from our youngest daughter’s room and a vintage tapestry and kantha that we acquired over the years. I wore pieces of jewelry that Mike had gotten me throughout our 15 years together and it really made me think of the journey that we have been on together”

As a wedding photographer, my goal isn’t to take photos for publicity’s sake. My sole objective is to capture the essence of the day in a way that will really resonate with the couple. That being said, it is always such an honor to be recognized by Style Me Pretty, one of the leading wedding blogs and it is entirely due to the work of the whole wedding team.
